This documentary project undertaken for Arup consisted of three short films on South Africa’s key transport hubs in Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Cape Town. The films explore the vibrant, often unplanned social and commercial activity around these hubs and were produced to make the case for Arups’ client, South Africa’s National Rail Network, to adopt an investment approach that took these realities into account as they planned to overhaul this key infrastructure. The films were a collaboration with filmmaker Simon Taylor and Arup’s Leszek Dobrowolsky.
